Exciting News for the Fall

You asked for it--you got it! Beginning on Rally Sunday, Aug. 30, CPC will be expanding opportunities for all ages to learn more about God and develop their relationships with Him. Here’s what our new Sunday schedule will look like:

  • 9-10 am, a worship service which will be casual (like we currently have) and involve all ages (child care or class will be available for infants through kindergartners.)

  • 10-10:45 am, a variety of fellowship classes for all ages, including adults. (On the last Sunday of each month we’ll enjoy breakfast together, instead of class.)

  • 11-12 am, traditional worship service with a special program for Preschool through 6th graders following the Time for Young Disciples.

If you have input, topic suggestions, or want to teach a class, please speak to Rev. Jonathan, Kathy Roach, Laurie May, Emmie Hix, John Branco, or Jose Trujillo.

Greeters Wanted

Your CPC family needs you!! We are in desperate need of greeters for the 10:30 service. This is great opportunity to get to know your church family. ANYONE CAN BE A GREETER!!! If you are interested, please contact the church office. Thank you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Job Club

Are you currently seeking employment? Be Positive and Faithful! ALL WHO ARE INTERESTED please come to an informal lunch to discuss and plan job transition strategies during your temporary displacement. If you are interested, please call Elizabeth Linares in the church office.

CPC Pictorial Directory

If you were unable to attend previous sessions, please sign up for the final photo session for the new Pictorial Directory. The last photo session will be September 22nd. Each portrait taken will receive a free 8“ x 10” photo and a free directory. Additional photos may be purchased at a reduced price.

Hearing System

Please be advised that a hearing system has been installed in the Sanctuary. The equipment (transmitter & receiver) is available in the church office.

Memorial Bricks

We are planning a new addition of Prayer Garden memorial bricks this Fall/Winter. If you have wanted to do this, now is the time! The forms for a memorial brick are in the Narthex. Each brick is $100 and we need at least 24 bricks to start a new section.

Calling All Young People to the Docas Knitting Circle

The Dorcas Knitting circle is sponsoring a Community Service Project. For all those students who need hours, we have a way for you to earn them and help out your fellow church members.

Members of the circle will be giving knitting and/or crocheting instructions. We will be making a lap robe for Pastor Jonathan to give to a shut in or someone who is in the hospital. There is plenty of yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks that have been donated to the circle. So all anyone need to give us is their time.

For ever 7" by 9" square that is turned we will give one hour toward your goal.

Please contact Mary Floyd for more information. PS - Adults are welcomed too!
