Visit Central Presbyterian ChurchWe hope you will visit Central Presbyterian Church.
The members of Central Presbyterian Church are a warm and welcoming, wonderfully diverse and vibrant mixture of people of all ages, from various international and racial backgrounds. Committed to the importance of strong, Biblical preaching and joyful worship, Central Presbyterian offers two Sunday worship services, an informal service of praise (9 a.m.) with a praise team and band, and a more traditional service of worship (11:00), with a chancel choir and instruments. For YouthThe church has a strong commitment to children’s education, with opportunities ranging from inventive Sunday school classes to the Christmas pageant. Youth also find much Christian nurture at Central Presbyterian, from classes to retreats to Christian music concerts to the Urbana student mission convention; many teens organize their weekend schedules around CPC activities. For AdultsCentral Presbyterian also provides important spiritual nurture for adults. Several adult education classes have a loyal following, most recently studying the gospel of Matthew and the Lord’s Prayer. The monthly adult Prayer Group has met for more than a decade; and the church is cultivating a Flock Ministry among church members. Service to the CommunityService to others is important to Central Presbyterian: the church regularly participates in feeding the homeless, providing Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gift boxes to needy families, and supporting local missions. It reaches out to the community through Habitat for Humanity and the annual Pumpkin Patch. |
