Just when you thought things were getting quiet, here comes October full of family fun, things to do, festivities, and party time. Please read this entire newsletter so that you can be better informed on all the activities the preschool at CPC has to offer.
BOOKFAIR UPDATE
Thanks to all the parents who purchased books from our Fall Fair. A special thank you to the parents who gave their time to help out, whether it’s setting up to selling CLC parents are the best when it come to giving their time to our school. Our rooms received many new books for their libraries. The teachers prepared wish lists that were placed on a beautiful giving tress. Always remember children learn to read by being read to. Research shows that early and good readers come from homes where reading is valued and experienced regularly.
ANNUAL PUMPKIN PATCH
The CLC children and families are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our pumpkins on Sat., Oct. 4th @ 9 a.m. It is always fun to be included to help unload the big semi– truck that will deliver these beautifully freshly picked harvested crops. This a great family morning out. We hope you will purchase pumpkins, gourds, and other goodies from us.
TRIKE-A-THON
Oct. 15th & 16th from 9:15 a.m.—12:15 a.m. we will close our school parking lot for a very worthwhile event. Our Pre-K and kindergarten kids will be participating in a Trike-A-Thon to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. This is an event that CLC has participated in for the past 6 years. If you are not a parent of a Pre-k or KDG student but would like to sponsor a child, please come or call the school office. St. Jude’s has informed me that in the years that we have been participating we have raised $38,899.00 and helped over 15 families, 5 of these from Dade County, one child from our own CLC.
ANNUAL FUND RAISER
Our fund raiser was a huge success, thanks to the parents and friends of CLC that helped with this.
STORYTIME WITH PASTOR JACK
This month the story time will be Thurs., Oct. 23rd and the topic will be “The Difference Between Pretend and Real”. This time of the year with all the influences of TV, Halloween, etc. we need to remind and instill in our children the reality and beauty of the world. Last month’s visit which was the first of the school year, with the Pre-k and Kindergarteners proved to be exciting and full of music.
We end the month with our storybook character parade and October festivities.
